The News 8 On Your Side email inbox is filling up with people saying they are getting calls from someone pretending to be from Publishers Clearing House.One viewer wrote, “A PCH agent has contacted me saying and showing that I am eligible for beneficial payment of any reasonable amount of my choosing. The stipulation is that for each $50,000 is a $1,000 fee.”In this case, the person was told they had to send the money through Bitcoin, the digital currency that’s nearly impossible to trace.As 8 On Your Side has been telling you for years, there’s no fee to get money that you have already won.So many people contact WGAL about this Publishers Clearing House scam to tell us, “It’s going around again.”The truth of the matter is this scam never stops. These scam calls happen every day.Keep your guard up, and remember: You never have to pay money to get money.
