Saqr AlHemeiri, MBA, is the Chief Innovation Officer and Director of the Strategy and Future Department at the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP) in the UAE. In his current position, Saqr is in charge of developing and implementing the Ministry’s strategy and cascading it throughout the national healthcare sector to ensure that MOHAP services and practices meet international and national quality and excellence standards.
In his role as Chief Innovation Officer, he has established a forward-thinking strategy for innovation within the healthcare sector in the UAE, emphasizing the importance of cultivating a culture that supports and prioritizes innovation throughout the industry. His contributions to innovation have garnered the Ministry several awards in the sector, most notably the esteemed Sheikh Mohamed Bin Rashed Excellence Award for Most Innovative Entity.
Saqr has a comprehensive background in the development and management of programs at different organizational tiers within the private, semi-governmental, and governmental sectors, covering a diverse range of industries such as Airline, Utilities, Retail, and Healthcare.
He holds an Executive Master in Business Administration from the University of Sharjah, a Diploma in Government Innovation from the Mohamed Bin Rashed Government Centre for Government Innovation (in collaboration with Cambridge University), and has completed the UAE Prime Minister Office’s Executive Leaders program (in collaboration with Said Business School at Oxford University).
He has co-authored several articles on healthcare training, including ones on assisting critical emergency medicine nurses and critical emergency medicine trauma team simulation training programs.
