Bhayander: Mum Victim Of Thailand Job Scam Rescued | Mumbai News

MUMBAI: A 25-year-old man from Bhayander, who fell prey to a job racket targeting IT-skilled youths, promising them jobs in Thailand and illegally taking them to Myanmar to work in dubious firms involved in call centre and crypto currency scams, was rescued by the ‘Bharosa Cell’ of the Mira Bhayander Vasai Virar (MBVV) Commissionerate last month. Shahzan Khan, a resident of Bhayander (east) who travelled to Thailand on a tourist visa in November, 2022, was being held captive.
His family lost contact with him. Both Shahzan and the Thane-based agent who had offered him job, were not reachable. Cops contacted the Indian Embassy and succeeded in tracking down Shahzan’s location. On March 30, Shahzan returned to Mumbai and was reunited with his family.
