Ripple has officially joined Pledge 1%, a global movement encouraging companies to give back by donating a portion of their profits to social causes. Through its Ripple Impact initiative, the company is pledging to 1% of its profits for blockchain innovation, improve financial access, scale carbon markets, and support community-driven projects led by employees.
Since its launch in 2018, Ripple Impact has invested heavily in projects that promote financial resilience and blockchain development. XRP’s long-term commitment includes supporting emerging markets by helping communities gain access to financial services. These efforts aim to make the global financial system more inclusive.
Ripple Supporting Global Education and Research
Through the University Blockchain Research Initiative (UBRI), XRP has committed $80 million to partner with 50+ academic institutions, developing over 1,500 blockchain research projects globally.
Humanitarian Aid and Financial Resilience
The company’s partnership with organization like Mercy Corps Ventures and the International Rescue Committee focus on funding fintech startups and piloting blockchain-based humanitarian aid delivery.
Financing Climate Action
The company has pledged $100 million toward scaling carbon markets and investing in Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) to achieve carbon reductions.
Empowering Local Communities
The company supports employee-driven initiatives, collaborating with nonprofits like Eat. Learn. Play. Foundation in San Francisco and Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity in London.
