BLOND:ISH Eyes Sustainability with New NFT Drop

Web3 music pioneer, BLOND:ISH, has joined forces with Evolution Music and Deep Grooves, to produce the world’s first biodegradable vinyl, partnered with an indestructible NFT. The project aims to make a statement about sustainability in the music industry.

The NFT project will see BLOND:ISH release the opening track of her #PlasticFreeParty compilation, ‘Life is…’ as an eco-friendly record backed by an NFT. As such, the collection will launch on April 11via an open edition, 72 hour, mint at a flat price of 0.04 ETH. In addition, the first 69 NFTs of the upcoming Web69 collection will come with a hand-signed record from the artist.

This ecological NFT trend is set to transform the music industry, providing a sustainable alternative to traditional vinyl made from polyvinyl chloride (PVC), which harms the environment. It’s release is a testament to BLOND:ISH’s commitment to sustainability. The album is intended to support her foundation ByeByePlastic, which strives to eliminate single-use plastics from the music industry.

What’s particularly noteworthy is that Evolution Music used existing pressing machinery to produce the plastic-free vinyl. This strategy enables a smoother transition for existing manufacturers to re-purpose to eco-friendly methods, easing mass adoption and the replacement of environmentally harmful PVC vinyl.

BLOND:ISH Champions a Sustainable Music Industry

That’s not all! The Biovinyl NFT collection from BLOND:ISH also includes an Easter Egg with a special package where the artist has hidden 500 $ISH and 500 $BYEBYE tokens, a free pass to mint her next NFT, and a hand-signed version of the record. This exciting opportunity offers fans the chance to participate in and support BLOND:ISH’s journey towards a more sustainable music industry.

The NFT project aligns with the trend toward eco-friendly alternatives. The music industry is exploring NFT use cases, with BLOND:ISH vinyl drop serving as an example of the potential for NFTs to address ecological concerns.
